About: The Way of the Cross - The Passion of the Christ in Art

Station XIII - Mary Holds The Body Of Jesus

The Stations of the Cross - The Passion of The Christ in Art was commissioned by the late Phil Cato in 1998.
Mr. Cato wished to honor his family with the continued exhibit of the stations at the landmark St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Hope, Arkansas. The artwork was permanently placed in 2011. For more information please visit St Mark's website.

Before the commission was placed at Saint Marks, the artwork debuted in 2008 at the former Blue Moon Gallery in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
In conjunction with Pope Benedict’s historic visit to New York City in 2008, the exhibit was honored with invitations to exhibit and hold artist talks at several prestigious venues, including Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY, as well as the historic Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in Times Square, NYC. Additionally, the exhibit was showcased at Subiaco Abbey in Subiaco, Arkansas, and Christ Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.

There is a companion book to the exhibit available for purchase.
